Mary Tyler Moore Modern Woman

December 29, 1936- January 25, 2017 : Mary Tyler Moore died today at 80 years old. The poster child for Independent, Modern Woman in The Mary Tyler Moore Show, her character dealt with being single, in her thirties, without children and working a 9-5 job long before it became the norm, though just as frowned upon, as it is today.

Prior to the work on her own show she worked as the perfect wife in the Dick Van Dyke Show, and perfected the funny yet beautiful housewife role.

The Dick Van Dyke Show

A favorite Mary film is Thoroughly Modern Millie as the squeaky clean friend of modern flapper girl, Julie Andrews. If you haven’t seen this gem be sure to settle in and get ready for a fun 1960’s romp through Chinatown, opium dens, and a parade of Carol Channing’s boyfriends.

We are truly grateful for the work of Mary Tyler Moore. Prayers to friends and family members during this difficult time. All our love.
